Ubisoft Titles Are Getting Cross-Progression and Cross-Play Features Via New Ubisoft Connect Service https://ift.tt/34jytlG
Now that cross-save and cross-progression are a reality and not just a pipe dream, gamers have been pushing for the features to be implemented more and more. Ubisoft has answered the cries with a new service called Ubisoft Connect, a free service that combines its Uplay and Ubisoft Club services into one. Ubisoft Connect will support cross-play and cross-progression for a multitude of upcoming games.
The new service is described as an “ecosystem of players services for Ubisoft games across all platforms” and will launch right next to Watch Dogs Legion on October 29.
Ubisoft Connect will allow players to earn rewards just like they were able to in Ubisoft Club. Ubisoft explained on its FAQ just how the new service will work. It stated: “Your Ubisoft Account has a level, which can increase by completing challenges and earning Ubisoft Connect XP. The more you play, the more you earn XP and level up.”

Rewards can be unlocked with Units, a point system that is earned every time the player reaches a new level. It is noted that there is not an upper-level limit. Those rewards can be unlocked for Ubisoft Connect games and include consumables, character costumes, and weapons skins.
Live games and new releases will use the loyalty scheme. Though, Ubisoft decided to give rewards totaling more than 1,000 from previous games to all players rather than adapting the challenge system used in its back catalog of games.
Ubisoft Connect will be familiar to Uplay users in terms of social features. However, the one big addition is cross-play and cross-progression between PC and consoles.
The publisher has stated that the goal is to include cross-play for “most” of its multiplayer titles. On top of that, Ubisoft said that cross-progression should work for “new releases”, including Hyper Scape, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Immortals Fenyx Rising, and Riders Republic.
Ubisoft Connect will be available across PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X\S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Stadia, iOS, Android, and the web later this month. If you would like more information on the new service, you can find some on the official website.
