Get Off to a Good Start in Harvest Moon: Light of Hope Special Edition Complete
Hello, everyone! Adam Fitch, Localization Manager here at Natsume Inc. to give you some tips so you can better enjoy the world of Harvest Moon: Light of Hope Special Edition Complete!
Since most of Beacon Town will be in disrepair when you first arrive, you’ll want to prioritize which buildings to fix that will unlock the most stuff so you can make the most money. Running a farm is all about optimizing your return on investment, and the biggest ROI you’ll find in the game is mining, so you’ll definitely want to prioritize unlocking that as soon as you can! I’m here today to tell you exactly how to do that!
You’ll unlock the first shop, Sam’s General Store, just by progressing through the story. The same goes for Carol’s Flower Shop. After that, though, here’s what you’ll want to do.
First, fix the bridge that leads to Gus and Melanie’s house here:
Next, you’ll want to repair Gus and Melanie’s house itself, which is here:
After that, you’ll want to repair the mine itself, located here:
Gus will be standing by the mine, and you’ll want to talk to him to get a hammer. After all, you can’t smash the ore lodes in the mine without a hammer! Enter the mine, and take a gander and the first floor:
As you can see, the first few floors of the mine will have a relatively simple layout. You’ll want to smash any ore lodes you see, and then use your hoe to dig in the ground to find ladders leading to the lower floors. Although most of the ore you’ll find in these early floors will be stuff like stone and iron ore, there’s a chance you’ll get lucky and find some opal ore or jade ore!
After you return back from the mine, head to Gus’s place to get the ore you found refined by him. This is where if you found any jade ore or opal ore, you’ll want to refine it into jade and opal gemstones. These can sell for quite a high price early in the game, so it’ll make things like expanding your farm, repairing the buildings in Beacon Town, and buying seeds and fertilizer much easier!
I hope this information will be helpful to you as you start your adventures in Beacon Town in Harvest Moon: Light of Hope Special Edition Complete! Happy farming, everyone!
