Samurai Shodown Officially Getting Third Season Pass; News About The “Other Franchise” Might Come Soon
The Japan Fighting Game Publishers Roundtable livestream is in full swing, and SNK revealed the third season pass of Samurai Shodown.
While the announcement of the third season pass was made today, details were not provided. We’ll have to wait for a reveal of the characters involved at a later date.
On top of that, producer Yasuyuki Oda mentioned that we can likely expect news about “another franchise” at some point soon. Unfortunately, SNK didn’t make it in time for today.
This is likely hinting to The King of Fighters XV, which was revealed in development at EVO 2019.
If you’re unfamiliar with Samurai Shodown you can read our review of the PS4 version released a while ago.
The game is currently available for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC via Epic Games Store, and Google Stadia.
If you want to learn more, you can also enjoy our semi-recent interview with producer Yasuyuki Oda, who shared more details about the future of the game.
Just yesterday, we saw the announcement of a brand new crossover character named Gongsun Li coming straight from the mobile game Honor of Kings by Tencent. Being free, she won’t be part of this new season pass.
